Vietnam’s stocks: PetroVietnam Drilling, Huu Lien Asia 2009-10-19 - Bloomberg
Vietnam’s benchmark VN Index, a measure of 178 companies on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange fell 0.4 percent to 607.11. Among the index members, 80 advanced, 83 dropped and 13 remained unchanged.
Huu Lien Asia Corp. (HLA VN), that manufactures steel pipe and stainless steel pipe, dropped 3.2 percent to VND45,000. The Ho Chi Minh City-based company will sell about 4.75 million shares in December to raise its registered capital, according to a statement on the exchange’s website. The statement didn’t provide the company’s current capital nor the amount of money it plans to raise.
Investment and Trading of Real Estate Joint-Stock Co. (ITC VN) rose to VND66,000 on the first day of trading on the exchange. The company started trading about 23 million shares with an initial price of VND55,000, according to a statement on the exchange’s website.
National Seed Joint-Stock Co. (NSC VN), which exports products such as rice seeds, slid 1.8 percent to VND53,500. The company plans to list an extra 2.25 million shares on Oct. 21, it said in a statement filed on the exchange’s website.
PetroVietnam Drilling & Well Services Joint-Stock Co. (PVD VN), the country’s biggest listed oilfield service provider, fell 1 percent to VND96,000. The company will start trading 25.7 million additional shares on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange from Tuesday, according to a statement on the bourse’s website.
Thac Ba Hydropower Joint-Stock Co. (TBC VN), which is engaged in the hydropower manufacturing industry, started trading 63.5 million shares on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange Monday after moving from the Hanoi Stock Exchange. The stock closed at VND30,400, a decline of 3.5 percent from an initial price of VND30,300.
