Stock investors rushed to sell their stocks after the southern counterpart declined strongly today. The market trend remained unclear although the government pledged to introduce market-boosting measures while companies released good corporate earnings.

The HASTC-Index lost 5.19 points, or 1.82%, to 279.3.

The northern bourse saw only 11 stocks ending higher, 102 lower, two unchanged and seven untraded.

Trading volume was up 29.91% to 2.78 million shares with a combined value of VND222.28 billion.

Foreign investors today bought 47,500 shares worth VND3.09 billion while they sold 44,300 units valued at VND3.9 billion.

PVS remained the most active stock, sliding 2.65% to VND91,800 per share on trade of 195,500 shares. ACB, the second most traded stock, dropped 1.46% to VND128,500 per share with 163,700 shares traded.

S96 was the biggest advancer, soaring 9.99% to VND107,900 per share, followed by VC2 (9.96%), HCT (9.59%) and CDC (3.56%).

NST was the biggest loser, declining 9.21% to VND33,500 per share, followed by YSC (-9.17%), CIC (-9.09%) and VBH (-9%).

Most blue-chips slid. BVS slumped 4.63%, S99 3.67%, PVI 2.46%, PVC 3.43%, BMI 2.62% and NTP 1.72%.
